While reasons for working at home may vary widely from person to person, I find that the majority of my visitors have one thing in common: the strong desire to bring a work/family balance to their life while utilizing their job skills via working at home. Telecommuting workers are increasing in numbers, as are the businesses who are implementing formal telework ( work at home ) programs. Most of us who have searched for a home-based job have plenty of motivation and skills to get the job done -- it's finding the job to apply for that is difficult.
This is the frustration I faced back in 1997 while trying to find a telecommute job that was both ethical and viable, and it has been echoed repeatedly by my visitors and clients over the years. And for those of us with children, quitting our traditional jobs outside the home to become a "stay at home, work at home" parent translates into way more than just money in the bank. No, we don't pay the sitter, don't pay the day care, don't buy the lunches, don't buy the gas our cars need to drive our kids to this sitter and that pre-school, etc.
But let me impress upon you that we are allowed the unique and treasured opportunities to witness first-hand the incredible "firsts" that every child has as they are developing and growing. The day-to-day activities and accomplishments that so many take for granted have become quite precious and irreplaceable for a growing number of parents who see working from home, and staying with their children as a better solution to raising their children.
This is another motivating factor in my commitment to provide superior resources and assistance to others (especially other mothers) who are seeking work at home. Job listings that are specifically telecommute, work at home, contract, home based. All listings are pre-screened and verified. Job seekers submit resumes and job inquiries directly to companies and employers with job openings.
